Mark Bolchoz, P.E.
President

As founding principal of Bolchoz Marine Advisors, Inc., Mark Bolchoz brings a truly unique perspective to the waterfront project, having spent nearly 35 years exclusively in the marine industry, working as both consultant and contractor. Prior to founding the consulting firm BMA, Bolchoz spent eight years working with one of the most well-respected marine contractors in South Florida, managing over $100 million in waterfront projects and gaining a true understanding of the positive impacts of proper project planning and innovative value engineering. Prior to his work with the marine contractor, Bolchoz spent 12 years working at two outstanding marina consulting firms, gaining invaluable experience on hundreds of waterfront development projects along the Atlantic seaboard and Bahamas.

Bolchoz has been involved in virtually every phase of waterfront development, from due diligence and planning, to permitting and design, to bidding and construction. He has experience in all project components including seawalls, floating dock systems, fixed piers, dredging, and utilities. He is a professional engineer in three states, has authored industry technical papers and articles, and has provided expert witness testimony in the specialized marine industry.​


Ross Sanford, P.E.
Vice President

Originally from Jupiter, FL, Ross Sanford received his engineering degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Following his graduation from CUA, he began his career as a project designer at a civil engineering firm in Charleston, SC, before joining Bolchoz Marine Advisors in 2018. Since that time, Sanford has played crucial roles in all project aspects including due diligence, master planning, structural design, and construction administration. He has proven himself to be invaluable to the firm through his work ethic, technical capabilities, and effective communications with clients.  Sanford was named Vice President of the firm in 2025.


Nick Raines
Project Coordinator

Nick Raines was born in Fort Campbell, KY, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland. Upon graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army and served for seven years, including a combat tour in Afghanistan. Upon completion of his Army career, Raines joined Bolchoz Marine Advisors in 2018. At BMA, his primary responsibility is to lead regulatory permitting efforts on all projects including residential docks, beachfront seawalls, marina renovations, and dredging projects.
